if you stay with him.

In the Old Testament, the prophet Azaria reminded King Asa that the Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with Him....but if you abandon Him, He will abandon you. After hearing the prophet's warning, the king immediately repaired the altar in the Lord's temple. More importantly, King Asa traveled throughout the land of Judah to destroy pagan idols that did not represent or honor God. As a result of following the prophet Azaria's warning, King Asa was able to enjoy a peaceful reign in Judah (without war) for over thirty years!

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded"

2 CHRONICLES 15:7

the lord will stay with you

what do you need to get rid of

in your life,

so that you can focus on god?

We should always be in a posture of prayer and seeking God's presence in our lives. More importantly, we should do everything that we can to put God first in every area of our lives. Putting Him first means that you invite His presence, His anointing and His blessing: before the big interview, before the big promotion, before the big exam, before the first date and literally before we start any aspect of our lives. In Jeremiah 29:12, the Lord says that "when you pray to Me, I will hear you" and "when you seek me, I will be found." So it is extremely important to heed the prophet's instruction [to King Asa] so that we can experience God's presence in our lives (in a very real way).

In addition, we have to remove any obstacles, situations or things that keep us from prayer. In some cases, we may have to remove people out of our lives that hinder us from inviting God's presence in our lives. When we do remove those people, places and things, then we can focus on God. And the scripture is clear that God rewards those that intentionally seek Him. He will move on our behalf, fight our battles, give us victory and grant us lasting peace.  AMEN
